M° Labs Field Kit: Buy One Give One $ 95
Field Kit
Fostering creativity through the lens of fabric science, in a buy-one-give-one kit.
During the pandemic, schools across the globe have been challenged with continuing education remotely, especially in STEM fields where lab access and basic supplies are hard to come by. Boston Public Schools - particularly those in Roxbury and East Boston, and predominantly Black and Hispanic students - have been disproportionately affected.
To support these students, we’ve teamed up with Mbadika mLabs (pronounced “bah-GEE-kah,” which means "idea") - an MIT-founded non-profit driven by the principle that talent is universal, opportunity is not - for a brand new project appropriately titled Mº Lab.
The Mº Lab Field Kit is an at-home STEM project that teaches the basics of product design and development through the lens of fabric science. The kit invites inquisitive minds to become “Mº Lab Secret Agents” - learning about material science, the chemistry of dyeing, and "manufacturing through a microscope," while building their own gear for a “top secret mission” in our new normal.
Each Mº Lab Field Kit includes all tools and materials needed to complete the [15] STEM projects, including a comprehensive 32-page workbook, making it perfect for learning at home - and for every kit sold, we will be donating a kit to Boston Public School students. With your help, we can help foster creativity and usher in a new generation of science lovers.
